This young man looks barely old enough to grow that mustache, but he’s got style. Look at that hat. And look at the rest of his attire. He knows he’s looking good.
SIZE. Tintype: Ninth plate (2 1/2 x 2 inches). Frame: Approximately 4 x 3 1/4 inches.
CONDITION. Tintype: Some unobtrusive black scrapes. When tilted, right or left viewing is fine. When tilted heavily from the bottom, the varnish turns white. Strangely, this doesn’t happen from the top. With normal viewing, it looks great! Frame: As seen in scans.
APPEARANCE. Very good contrast. Strong pose. Handsome young gentleman.
