his listing is for a vintage Albert system clarinet. There is no brand name, nor any other markings on it for that matter. It is a key of C clarinet. Based on its length, and a check with a tuner this is a HIGH PITCH instrument. This means it is tuned to A=455hz rather than A=440. Thus its usefulness will be limited when playing with other instrumentalists. For that reason, this probably falls more into the realm of a collector's item.
This instrument is in overall very good physical condition, and it is somewhat playable as is, but it will require some work to be in proper playing condition. It looks like someone started to do a restoration on this, as the pads are in like new condition and sealing well. For some reason they neglected the corks though. The tenon corks are all very compressed, so the instrument wobbles when assembled. I wrapped some teflon tape around the compressed corks for the purpose of doing a quick test play, but this is hardly a long term solution. It will certainly need new corks, which is no big deal. A bigger deal is that it is missing the thumb rest, and it has a rather unique shaped ident for the thumb rest to fit into. I'm sure one could fit a standard thumb rest if need be. It does, in its current state, play well enough that I was able to play the instrument up and down its scale, and to determine that it was a high pitch model.
As far as physical condition, it is overall very good. I don't see any cracks or previously repaired cracks. There is some chipping on the flair of the bell (see last pic), and also a few superficial chips on the upper joint's lower tenon. The keys are all moving freely. A few could stand to be swedged and/or have spring tension adjusted. Overall it is in nice condition though. Unfortunately I don't have a mouthpiece/ligature/cap to include with this one
This instrument comes in an unmarked period case, which I assume is original. It is in very good condition for its age. It has typical minor wear, and is a little musty inside, but it is solid.
Please feel free to message me with any questions.
    Thanks again for looking!
    Note to international buyers:
Due to the current global pandemic, international shipments via USPS mail are experiencing significant delays. This is due to lack of available transportation (ie. mail is normally carried overseas as cargo on commercial passenger flights, however the flight schedules have been slashed). European buyers have experienced wait times of up to 2 months for shipments to arrive. If this potential wait presents a problem for you, please refrain from purchasing at this time. I sincerely apologize for this, unfortunately unavoidable, inconvenience.
