DESCRIPTION:
This antique tintype is a portrait of a seated girl holding a pet cat. A hand in the upper-left corner holds one end of a make-do backdrop (reminiscent of a "hidden mother" image), suggesting an itinerant photographer. The girl's cheeks have been lightly tinted red. This tintype dates to the 1860s or 1870s.
SIZE:
3 1/4 by 2 1/4 inches.
CONDITION:
Great condition, with minor wear and a few very light bends that are not troubling.
