    This is a pair of 1/6 plate tintypes of a handsome couple (likely husband and wife), taken with painted studio backdrops. The woman is holding what looks like a Union daguerreotype case. The focus is sharp. They are in matching mats and preservers and are in an A. P. Critchlow & Co. Union daguerreotype case. The case is very good.
