I bought these beautiful Merrell Wilderness leather hiking/mountaineering boots in the 1990s for a trip to Europe and then didn’t go. At the time, I was climbing and wanted something super high quality that could work with crampons. These gorgeous full grain all-leather Italian-made boots were never worn and have been hanging around my closet ever since. They really deserve to go on some grand adventures! Merrell doesn't make these anymore and you just can’t find mountaineering boots of this quality anywhere. The solid leather upper boot is attached to the sole with stitched welt construction. They support your ankles with padding and leather lining. The entire boot is insulated and they are incredibly well made.
They will take time to break in but folks who own them swear by them and keep them for a lifetime. These are forever boots.
