Flaws:
Original blades are silver-plated metal - this doll came with plexiglass plastic blades and will be shipped detached to prevent breaking (photo 11).  Buyer must reglue them (they fit perfectly into the holes in the bottom of the soles of the skates).  O
ne hanging pearl is missing from the handkerchief hem of her skirt.

An Olympic queen.  A ballerina on ice who captured the heart of America.  Now she has authorized the creation of a poseable collector doll.  Her features sculpted true to life in fine imported bisque porcelain; her blue eyes hand-painted.  Dressed in a dazzling skating costume of organza over white chiffon - hand-sewn with faux pearls & sequins with the graceful "handkerchief" skirt of a supreme performer.  Genuine maribou & sequins adorn her hairpiece.  Specially jointed shoulders and hips so she can form a variety of poses - a feature rarely found in collector dolls.  A legend on ice."
About Peggy Fleming:
The only American to win a Gold Medal at the 1968 Olympics in Grenoble, France.  She wore a dress in the color Chartreuse,
named after the liqueur of that color produced by nearby Carthusians in their founding monastery in the Chartreuse region.  She married her high school sweetheart and has been married over 48 years.  From 2002-2014, she and her husband owned a vineyard and winery in the Santa Cruz mountains: Fleming Jenkins Vineyards and Winery.  She beat breast cancer in 1998 for which she raises awareness and money.  They retired from California wine-making and now live in Colorado.
