Description
For sale one Antique Penzel Mueller, Studio Recording Clarinet with case. The case is more modern and made by SKB. A lot of research has been performed on this beautiful instrument. In checking with a professor and professional clarinet player, this is the feedback we received."This instrument was made by a team of Germans who moved to NYC at the turn of the century (last century). This specific clarinet is actually rare and it appears to be made between 1919 and 1920. This clarinet is more of a collectors piece rather than a modern instrument. But with a little work this could be made to meet modern standards and would likely sound great. "
Here is some additional information I was able to uncover. It appears this specific model was made in Paris but I cannot guarantee this. It appears to have been made of Grenadilla wood (African Blackwood) and it amazingly dark like a strong black coffee. The serial number is SR5326B. Included in the case are 2 cleaning rods and multiple reeds. Although I am not a clarinet player, I was able to put this beautiful instrument together and play a few notes (I had some help with online videos and a piano players knowledge). It still sounded phenomenal. I wish this stunning instrument could tell me its stories from the past 100 years. This a wonderful piece of history to own. This is such a unique item we will be unable to offer refunds unless damaged in transit.
