    You are viewing a rare tintype containing a lovely shared moment of a mother holding her child who obviously has a case of Hydrocephaly or enlarged swelling of the head.
    I have rarely seen these type of images captured on tintypes. Early images containing medical conditions are considered historical and therefore, desirable. Good luck if you should be the lucky winner of this beautiful and touching portrait of a child with their loving mother. Heck, buy them for a wonderful Mother's Day gift for a collector this year or any other year.
    CONDITION
    : Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The sixth plate tintype contains excellent contrast, tonal range and very good sharpness. Hand tinting was also applied to the subjects faces. The plate is nearly immaculate in condition. Again, extremely rare subject matter and beautiful plate quality are what makes this tintype highly desirable.
